VERDAD and Perry’s Restaurants Coming to the Grove
We are excited to announce the upcoming opening of VERDAD True Modern Mexican, coming to The Grove in Summer 2023. VERDAD is the latest restaurant from Perry’s Restaurant, joining their sister restaurant CARVE American Grille at The Grove
“We have always been interested in providing a fine-dining steakhouse perspective to an authentic yet modern Mexican dining experience,” said Chris Perry, founder and owner of Perry’s Restaurants. “Austin is a cultural hub in Texas, and we are so fortunate that the community embraced Perry’s Steakhouse and CARVE American Grille, and thus we knew it was the perfect place to bring this new vision to life.”
VERDAD – which translates to “truth” – will pull from traditions cultivated throughout Mexican history to authentically capture and appreciate the relationship between the past and the present. Providing an elevated Mexican experience from a modern steakhouse perspective, VERDAD will offer a twist on classics including tableside Wagyu filet asada cooked on a salt block, balsamic roasted duck timbale with cherry mole and a charred NY strip chile relleno.
Partnering with renowned restaurant design group Aria Group Architects to design a modern 10,312-square-foot space, VERDAD is inspired by Mayan, Aztec and Spanish culture, and grounded in six unique concepts: the woven history of ancient and modern elements; displaying a refined representation of modern tradition; utilizing natural connections through the materials; creating tactile moments by layering textures and experiences; using handmade details creating crafted luxury; and using strokes of vivid colors and ornate patterns to embody bold simplicity within the space.
“Perry’s is a well-known, best-in-class restaurant operator and we are so excited that they will be the lead restaurant group at The Grove. I know that they have been curating this latest dining concept for a very long time. When Chris told me about this new offering, I knew that The Grove would provide the perfect location and environment for this fantastic new authentic Mexican dining experience.
